Father's Day saw the first race of the Covid-19 season. Gridded in a field of mid-70s sports cars and sedans at Blackhawk Farms, it was a decent field under the circumstances. The start went well getting by the yellow Saab Sonett in the second turn. We were chasing a quick and lovely blue Alfa Romeo GTV who in turn was trying to run down a British Racing Green Sunbeam Tiger. The Ford V8 under its hood was more than a match for the Alfa's four banger and our BMW 2002's similarly cylinder-challenged engine. It was a great race anyway, with the tight yet friendly competition characteristic of Vintage racing.
